I've been experimenting with techniques of arranging the hemp fabric in the bucket to produce patterns in my low water immersion dye work. Years ago, I learned that coarse salt can be used in dyeing to create a resist type effect where the dye "runs away." I've been dyeing my hemp fabrics for the last 3 years that I use to sew projects for my husband, family and myself. I rarely buy clothes anymore because I prefer to make them myself.
